Evita's Italian Restaurant Review

You can't think of Ocho Rios and not think of Evita's Italian Restaurant. For years I've heard about this place so it was no surprise that I had to try it out. I spent a few days in Ocho Rios with my friends and on the top of the list to have our "final supper" before heading back to Kingston was Evita's.

We got all dressed up and headed up the hill. Evita's has been around for over 20 years and they specialize in Northern Italian food. They also have an extensive selection of creative Jamaican-Italian fusion dishes of fresh pasta, seafood, vegetarian, and meat entrees. The building itself is in the setting of an authentic 1860's Gingerbread house with wooden floors equipped with a mahogany bar. They have seating indoors and outdoors on the verandah where you have an amazing view of the pier of Ocho Rios.

The Food

I had the Ravioli ‘ECCELLENZA’ which is Jumbo Cheese filled Ravioli tossed in an alfredo-tomato sauce with baby shrimp sautéed in garlic olive oil & laced with Sambuca Liqueur. Can I just say this was truly delicious! I found myself wanting more! One of my friend's tried the alfredo pasta topped with fried fish and said it was delicious. Seeing as how we were all on a budget and the menu was a bit pricey we shared 2 desserts. Let me STRESS how pricey this place is but I have to admit the food is delicious and the cocktails weren't bad at all. What we really loved was the ambiance, the live music and the magnificent view.

If your ever in Ocho Rios definitely check out Evita's and let me know what you think!
