Sometimes the best trips aren't packed with sightseeing, they're about slowing down, enjoying good food, and spending quality time with someone you love. That's exactly what my mom and I did during our weekend stay at the Bellyard Hotel in Atlanta's vibrant West Midtown neighborhood.
From the moment we arrived, Bellyard felt different. The hotel has a modern industrial design with warm, welcoming touches that make the space feel both stylish and comfortable. It's the kind of place where you immediately want to settle in, grab a coffee, and take your time.

First Impressions
One of the things I appreciated most about Bellyard was its location. Nestled in West Midtown, the hotel is surrounded by some of Atlanta's best restaurants, boutiques, and local shops. We barely needed to drive once we checked in because everything we wanted to experience was just a short walk away.
The lobby has a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of comfortable seating, making it a great place to unwind after exploring the neighborhood. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which always sets the tone for a memorable stay.
The Room
Our room was thoughtfully designed with clean lines, cozy bedding, and large windows that filled the space with natural light. I especially loved the nook by the window that overlooked to the city and the modern décor struck the perfect balance between luxury and comfort without feeling overdone. After a long day exploring West Midtown, it was the perfect place to come back, relax, and recharge. I also loved the storage space! There was somewhere to hang your coat near the door, the closet, and drawer space for your small bags or luggage. The function and design of the storage space was so thoughtful.
I also loved the wooden floors that gave a grounded feel. Almost like you were at home. The only negative about that is the acoustic reflection. They also had books to read which is commonly found in boutique or luxury hotels.
I'm not gonna lie, the bed was so comfortable that it was hard for either of us to get out. Felt like I was in a cocoon. I would probaly sleep all day in the bed if I could.
Exploring West Midtown
One of my favorite parts of this trip was simply wandering around West Midtown. The neighborhood has a creative energy that's easy to fall in love with. Between locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, and unique retail spaces, there was always something interesting around the next corner.
My mom and I spent the weekend trying nearby restaurants, enjoying great conversations over delicious meals, and browsing the local shops. It wasn't about checking off a long itinerary, it was about enjoying the moment together. Those slower travel days often become the most memorable.
My favorite places in the area:
There are so many more bars, restaurants, entertainment and shops to explore in the area.
Why Bellyard Makes a Great Weekend Getaway
Whether you're planning a couples' getaway, a girls' trip, a solo escape, or a family weekend, Bellyard makes an excellent home base for exploring one of Atlanta's most exciting neighborhoods.
Here's why I'd recommend it:
Beautiful modern design with a cozy atmosphere
Walkable location in West Midtown
Surrounded by excellent restaurants and shopping
Comfortable rooms perfect for relaxing after a day out
Friendly service that makes you feel welcome
The only negatives I experienced was noise in the hallway, as our room was close to the elevator. Since the floors in the room are not carpeted, there was some acoustic reflection. It only happened one night though and other than that it was pretty quiet.
Final Thoughts
Travel doesn't always have to mean rushing from one attraction to the next. Sometimes it's about finding a beautiful hotel, discovering great local restaurants, shopping a little, and creating meaningful memories with the people you love.
My weekend at Bellyard Hotel with my mom reminded me that the simplest trips can often be the most rewarding. If you're looking for a stylish hotel in Atlanta that's close to fantastic food and shopping, Bellyard is definitely worth adding to your list.
