All You Need To Know About the Lunch Menu At Oak Wine Bar & Cocktail Lounge

I was invited by Oak Wine Bar and Cocktail Lounge to try out their new lunch menu with five of my blogging colleagues. This was actually my first time going to this establishment and I was really excited to taste their food.

Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly hostess who then seated me with my party. To my surprise only two other bloggers had arrived. So while we waited on our remaining party we talked and took in the atmosphere of the lounge. We were offered a frozen lemonade to drink which was quite refreshing as that day outside was very hot. I think I had two frozen lemonades. It was just right, it wasn't too sweet, and it quenched my thirst. We decided to place our orders while we waited on the rest of our colleagues to arrive.

I love Oxtail and beans and it's not something I have very often but when given the chance I will indulge in it. So I decided to order the Oxtail from the lunch menu. On the new lunch menu other items included fried chicken, curried goat, and red peas soup. All items are served with rice and peas or white rice, slaw or vegetables and fried ripe plantains.

Finally the remaining bloggers arrived and we were ready to eat. Our meal arrived just in time before the hunger started to bite. It was a hearty amount and I loved how they presented the oxtail in a mini skillet. It was so cute! After taking pictures of my food (yes I take pictures of my food) it was time to take the first bite. YES!!!!!! it was how oxtail should be! I even wanted to pick up the bones with my fingers and suck out the juice but I kept it cute and classy with my knife and fork etiquette. The plantain was also nice. I wish I got more than two pieces. It was nicely fried. I normally like my oxtail with white rice however it was just as nice with the rice and peas especially with the oxtail gravy drizzled on it. The vegetables were nice and fresh which consisted of lettuce and tomatoes.

While I didn't get to try the fried chicken, the curry goat or the red peas soup it looks delicious enough for me to visit Oak Wine Bar & Cocktail Lounge again to try them. Some of my colleagues tried the curry goat and they said it was tasty.

If you're interested in trying out their lunch menu, lunch is served between 11 am and 4 pm Tuesday to Saturday. They also do take out orders as well in case you don't have the time to dine in.
